Chris from Chicago writes in our AFC East inbox: Long-time Dolphins fan here. I'm thrilled to have an inside look at the franchise on “Hard Knocks.” But I'm not thrilled about what it may mean in the win/loss column, and how it effects the development of our end-all, be-all franchise QB [Ryan Tannehill]. Here's a blog idea: Can you take a look at the W/L records for teams when they were on the show? Of course, it won't predict their record, but I think it would be an interesting study.

UFC veteran Kenny Florian officially retires

Kenny Florian has officially retired from MMA.

The UFC veteran, who hasn't competed since an October title loss to featherweight champion Jose Aldo, made the decision official at today's weigh-ins for The Ultimate Fighter Finale.

The 36-year-old now will focus on his current UFC broadcasting career, which includes live UFC cable-TV broadcasts and the weekly "UFC Tonight" program on FUEL TV.

UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones arrested for DUI

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was arrested early Saturday morning for a DUI after getting into an accident in Broome County in New York state. The accident was first reported by TMZ who said Jones crashed his Bentley into a pole and was arrested at the scene. Ariel Helwani reports Jones walked away from the accident uninjured.

Malki Kawa, Jones' manager, released a statement on the arrest.

"I can confirm that Jon Jones was arrested early this morning on suspicion of DUI. While the facts of this situation are still being gathered and situated, First Round Management fully supports Jon and we are asking for fans and media to respect the privacy of Jon and his family during this time."

Jones recently defended his championship with a five-round decision win over Rashad Evans. He is scheduled to fight Dan Henderson in September.

Jon Jones, manager speak out after DUI arrest

After his arrest for a DUI early Saturday morning, Jon Jones posted a statement on his Facebook page. He started by saying he "screwed up big time."

"I'm truly sorry to those of you that I may have embarrassed in any way, to those of you with kids that I may have let down. I will prove to them as well as to myself that no matter what is happening in life, we can always work our way back and make things even better than before."

Jones' manager, Malki Kawa, went on MMA Weekly Radio and pleaded for fans to give Jones a chance.

"I would just kind of like to let the fans know to give him a chance. Give yourself a chance to get all the facts in yourselves, wait until everything gets said and done, and then at that point if you want to vilify him afterwards and you heard him speak and you heard him say his part and then vilify him, I can't control what people are going to say. But it is too soon; it is too quick in my opinion. He really is a decent guy. He's a very, very good guy, trying his hardest to be a good role model, a good example, and he wants to be that. No one's perfect and he's never said he was and never said that he doesn't make mistakes. It's a fact he made a mistake. He messed up and I'm sure he's going to come out and apologize and do what he's got to do."

I've been surprised by the amount and type of vitriol aimed towards Jones for this incident. I find drunk driving deplorable and have no problem with Jones (if found guilty) or anyone else who is found guilty of such reckless, selfish, disgusting behavior spending a whole lot of time in a jail cell.

But the comments here, on Facebook and on Twitter have had a gleeful tone. Too many people are happy that Jones screwed up. Let's be clear here. Jones could have killed someone. Jones could have killed himself. This arrest is no reason to rejoice.

'The Ultimate Fighter: Live' ratings: Episode No. 12 draws 875K viewers

This past Friday's new episode of "The Ultimate Fighter: Live" drew a total audience size of 875,000 viewers, rebounding slightly from an all-time low viewership of 821,000 viewers for episode No. 11.

The figure marked the sixth episode of "TUF: Live" to score fewer than 1 million viewers, MMAjunkie.com today confirmed with an industry source.

The one-hour episode featured two fights as Team Faber's Mike Chiesa and Al Iaquinta each won semifinal-round bouts to advance to the 32-man tourney's final round, which takes place this Friday night.

Bellator inks Norwegian-based middleweight Jack Hermansson

Middleweight prospect Jack Hermansson is the latest addition to the Bellator roster.

Officials recently confirmed the signing of the Norwegian-based fighter with MMAjunkie.com.

A debut date and opponent haven't been determined for Hermansson, though he could fight in the "Summer Series" of events in the next couple months or during the upcoming seventh season, which is expected to kick off in September.

Cung Le vs. Patrick Cote official for UFC 148, remains on main card

As expected Patrick Cote is returning to the UFC for a UFC 148 bout with fellow middleweight Cung Le.

As MMAjunkie.com first reported Wednesday, Cote has replaced Rich Franklin, who recently was shifted to a UFC 147 headliner against Wanderlei Silva.

Le vs. Cote will remain on UFC 148's main card, officials today announced.
